Hear GHIII's final track: "The Devil Went Down to Georgia"

After finishing "Free Bird" in Guitar Hero II, you may have thought that it could never be topped as a "final" song. Oh sure, a more difficult song, but not a more fitting song. Allow us to present to you the final track of Guitar Hero III then: "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." The Charlie Daniels Band classic has been revitalized for the game, replacing its fiddle (don't you dare call it a violin) with, well, a guitar. The guitar is played by Steve Ouimette, who is apparently better than the Devil himself. Don't take our word for it, though. Give it a listen and judge for yourself.

This BAD remake of a great song, such a shame..........

Im really good at GH II and completed the whole game on expert with five stars. This song sounds a little too hard. i mean, its almost like Jordan. The one song i could never play on expert. idk. heres hoping its not "that" hard.

agreed with the first two comments.......i played the gh3 demo and it was fun, it just felt kinda weird, i dont know, i hope this game is good, but i feel like i am leaning more towards rock band for the song selection....

ehh on second thought who am i kidding.....i just wanna be cheap and use my 360 gh2 guitar and just get both gh3 and rock band but only the games....maybe in the future buy some of the rock band stuff

While the song features some great guitar, I can't help but feel like I've died a little inside, listening to a real classic song being butchered and twisted into something so unrecognizable for the sake of a game.

Freebird- The classic that should have been in the first one.
The Devil Went Down to Georgia- A remake of a country song....

I dont mind this remake. Would you really like to see the devil play a country sounding song? I mean seriously...The Devil is about Fast Guitars, not Fiddles or Banjos. Watch the Pick of Destiny and you will see what I am saying. And the last part sounds Freakin Brutal!!! This deserves to be in my iPod! Where can I download this track?!?!

Yeah... I don't think so. While I'll be totally amazed watching someone else play this song on expert I'm going to know that for every stroke played an angel in heaven dies.

wow someone would have to be on some kind of stimulant to beat that song on expert and I don't mean coffee....

This song fits as the final song because of the storyline of the game, where you battle Lou (Lucifer) in a rock off.

This song will be done in battle mode as well.

The devil is cooler on a fiddle. Especially a solid gold fiddle. And especially if that devil is the Robot Devil.

I think this remake was pretty good! i loved the original and i believe this one is just as good

I think its an awesome cover as far as the music goes, but the rushed singing, and the way his voice sounds, kind of ruin the vocals. I always liked how this song tells an awesome story, but with that guy singing you miss that part completely. Still looking forward to playing it though. . . on expert.

Whilst I don't like the Guitar Freaks series more than Guitar Hero.. I must say... If this were made by a Japanese company, the fiddle would have stayed in.
I hate that there's not many "Odd" songs in the series. Practically only one, the Freezepop song in the second game. God, I loved that. It was so different, and they didn't "Guitar-afy" it like they did the freezepop song in the first game.

Less Talk More Rokk was one of my absoulte favorites on GHII...this remake should never have been.

I don't really like the singing, but the notes sound fun and challenging (...extremely challenging, definitely not a song I'll beat first try).

Indeed, those well known emo artists ZZ Top, the Rolling Stones, Pat Benatar, Iron Maiden, the Beastie Boys and their ilk are certainly over-represented.

Wow, they pick SOME good artists but they don't pick their best songs, they pick a so-so song from them. Who the hell picked the songs for GHIII?

I just vomited in my mouth... this remake is AWFUL.

how do you get TDWDTG unlocked for quick play? i beat the game on med and it only gave me ttfaf as a bonus.
