Earth Defense Force coming to the 360

Over at Siliconera they've scored an interview with D3 Publisher to talk about the upcoming Xbox 360 version of Earth Defense Force 2017. This admittedly Japanese game is finally making the trek over to North America where D3 Publisher thinks it'll be a hit with the 360 community. To be honest, we've never heard of Earth Defense Force, but after reading the interview we're interested. The game is all about blowing up a massive amount of enemies, various enemies ranging from ants to robots. Nothing is too weird to kill. And you won't be running out of ways to kills your foes since there are over 150 different weapons. Big explosions, big enemies, lots of enemies, lots of weapons ... we're so in on this one.

There's been a group of people super excited about this game since it was announced. I am very happy it's being brought over here. I can only hope it will go after a cheaper price.

I had a chance to try out the game at the last Tokyo Game Show. It is right up D3's alley. Cheap, silly and hopefully priced to match. It better be around $30 because that's what it's worth. The graphics are middle rank and the story... well they say it has a story anyway. Good mindless fun when you're waiting for the last of your buddies to show up so you can head out for the evening kinda gameplay.

I saw EDF first years ago on X-Play (back when it was actually worth watching) on the PS2. I've wanted to play it ever since. I never dreamed they'd actually bring one over. Something else MS is doing better than sony... As stated in two previous commets, it IS a budget series in Japan. I really hope they don't try to release it here for $60. They probably will though. The last 2 or 3 TXR games released for $10 in the US, yet they changed the name for the 360 version to "Import Tuner Challenge" and tried to charge $60 for it.
